The Criminal Sanctions Agency is obligated to arrange appropriate health care, medical treatment and rehabilitation. The state of health of prisoners is chiefly attended to by the Agency’s own health care personnel, with its own equipment and in its own facilities.

Prisons arrange the prisoners their daily catering. In addition, they are given suitable clothing and necessary linen on arrival in prison.

The accommodation premises of prisoners have to be equipped so that they meet the requirements set on accommodation premises in general building legislation.
