Prison Service Cross of Merit to Scotland
In the international Roundtable Meeting of Chief Executive Officers of the prison and correctional services held in Finland on 11-13 November 2007, the Prison Service Cross of Merit was awarded to Head of Performance Information and Measurement Services of the Scottish Prison Service Ed Wozniak. The Prison Service Cross of Merit can be given as recognition for exemplary work in the prison service field. The Cross of Merit is granted by the Minister of Justice of Finland based on the proposal of Director General of the Prison Service.
Mr Wozniak is a long-term member of the Secretariat of the international Roundtable network of Chief Executive Officers of the prison and correctional services and a convener of working groups. With his professional and extremely obliging attitude, he has also assisted in the development and research work of the Finnish Prison Service in several occasions. He is a psychologist by education and is currently the Head of Performance Information and Measurement Services in the Scottish Prison Service. Mr Wozniak has published several researches on prison and correctional services and spoken in numerous international conferences.
