Pauli Nieminen appointed as Director of the Criminal Sanctions Region of Western Finland

The Criminal Sanctions Agency has appointed Pauli Nieminen as Director of the Criminal Sanctions Region of Western Finland for a fixed term starting from 1 December 2019

Pauli Nieminen, who has Master’s degree in Social Sciences, currently works as Development Director in the Central Administration of the Criminal Sanctions Agency. He has made a long career in the criminal sanctions field and in various managerial positions.

The region director is in charge of the whole criminal sanctions region, the practical enforcement of sentences in that region, and the resources, operations, and development of the region.

The post of director of the Region Centre for Western Finland became vacant as Kirsti Kuivajärvi, who was in office, retired earlier this year. Due to the evaluation of the organisation structures of the Criminal Sanctions Agency, which will be carried out next year, the appointment of Pauli Nieminen as Regional Director is for a fixed term from 1 December 2019 to 31 December 2020.
