Riitta Kari appointed as new Development Director of the Criminal Sanctions Agency

The Criminal Sanctions Agency has appointed Riitta Kari as Development Director for a fixed term. Kari starts at the Central Administration of the Criminal Sanctions Agency on 1 February 2020. Kari has a Master of Business Administration degree and, before her appointment, she worked as Director of Satakunta Prison and Pori Community Sanctions Office.

Kari has a long career of carrying out supervisory, managerial, and developmental duties in the Criminal Sanctions Agency. Kari considers that her work is socially significant and effective.

“As our operating environment changes, the Criminal Sanctions Agency must be actively involved in the change and develop both the operations and itself. The functionality of the cooperation with our external and internal networks is essential for the success of our work. Likewise, we need to develop the services of the Criminal Sanctions Agency continuously so that they correspond to the needs of the clients and prisoners as well as possible,” Kari states.

Development Director is in charge of the unit called Effectiveness of Sanctions in the Central Administration of Criminal Sanctions Agency. The duties of Development Director include, among others, launching, coordinating, and monitoring projects linked to the development of the service ability and effectiveness of the Criminal Sanctions Agency.

Due to the evaluation of the organisation structures of the Criminal Sanctions Agency, which will be carried out this year, the appointment of Riitta Kari as Development Director is for a fixed term from 1 February 2020 to 31 December 2020.
